Posted on June 3rd, 2007 in Latest Announcements |
The Green Room Series is a trio of living areas that teach students how to live modern and comfortable sustainable lifestyles without making drastic changes to their daily lives or spending copious amounts of money. They are experiments in green living that focus on innovative solutions for our future. Our goal is to teach people about environmentally preferable purchasing with respect to air, water, and land quality, in an interactive way, while showing how these technologies work in the real world.
Green Room: The Green Room is located in the Global Environment Theme House in the Hillside part of foothill. The Green Room was our first project, which opened in October 2005 in Unit 1 and moved to the GETH suite in 2007. It focuses on students who live in dorm situations.
Green Apartment: The Green Apartment is located in a two bedroom apartment in the Channing-Bowditch apartments. The Green Apartment opened in November 2006. Its focus on green transitions, looking at the different things that people living in houses or apartments have to think about, such as cleaning products and food.
