ritings of the Castle

My scribes, cartographers, and bookmakers have been working very hard as of late to extend the literary collections of the Castle. To the right you'll find newly made works on alchemy and military defense and in the shelf in front of you you'll find maps, and here's Kotsor. If you're superstituous you may want to stay away from Nilreb's Grove to the east where it has been said that people have recently gone and come back unable to speak or utter a word. Legend has it that during the rule of Martius a vocal dissident had his tounge removed as punishment and that he comes every 6th generation to the day haunting the area. It's all peasant nonsense I tell you.

In this case you'll find works that I've authored. If it were not for some recent mishaps with my scribes, more would be available. One of them came down with gout and another became unable to write, claiming that he had milked his many cows too frequently. I lost a promising scribe recently who said that he was simply too frustrated with the progress we were making. The Prince's Scribe is a dignified position and I sometimes consult these learned men in various important affairs. It is thus all the more surprising to have seen Guttenburg leave in such a huff, but I wish him well.

The Prince enjoys a good intellectual discussion, so you may want read some works and we can talk about them tonight at the feast we have planned in the dining chamber. Goulash with rabbit eyes and mink liver is the main course and I hear the cooks are preparing a fine ant and snake scale dessert as well. We'd never make anything out of Hans (right), though, as he has read everthing in the entire library and is one of my most trusted adisers
