Who We Are
 
The Mental Health Task Force is a group of Berkeley graduate students committed to advancing mental health as a campus priority. We represent departments all over campus, including Engineering, Public Health, Psychology, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Vision Science, SIMS, and Law.
 
Charge of the Mental Health Task Force
 
1-- Commissioning and reviewing surveys of graduate student well-being, access to mental health care, and overall satsifaction with mental health services on campus.
 
2-- Designing and implementing educational initiatives (in cooperation with the Tang Center) aimed at destigmatizing depression, bipolar disorder, and other phsyiological conditions; normalizing outreach to distressed colleagues; and advertising the existing mental health services on campus
 
3-- Supporting the formation of a campus-wide committee (with faculty, administrators, and students) addressing issues of student mental health. This will include reviewing a proposal/charge for the formation of such a committee.
 
4-- Overseeing a lecture series (sponsored by the Graduate Assembly) inviting lecturers from Public Health, Neuroscience, Psychology, etc. to speak about recent research efforts in the promotion and maintenance of mental health.
