“This is the House that Cal built…”

As a campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, Cal Habitat works with affiliates throughout the Bay Area to build affordable housing for low-income families. Since 1999, Cal Habitat students have put in countless volunteer hours of hammering, roofing, digging, and every kind of task needed to create a home.

Now that we are firmly established as a campus chapter, Cal Habitat is working towards the exciting goal of sponsoring our own house. Berkeley Build Day has been created to draw the Cal community together in response to the critical housing need that so many families face. Every dollar we earn brings us closer to the day when we can stand on the worksite and say “This IS the house that Cal built."
