When: Saturday, October 11, 2008 8:00am - 4:00pm

What: Created in conjunction with East Bay Habitat for Humanity, Berkeley Build Day gives Cal volunteers the chance to experience Habitat for Humanity by raising funds and volunteering on Oct. 11 on a house-building worksite.

Why: Besides being able to make a real difference to a local family, groups will get to volunteer on a Habitat worksite. This entails working under the professional guidance of site managers who help with the necessary tasks in that day's construction (no skills required!). Lunch and refreshments will be provided, as well as free T-shirts for everyone who meets the minimum $75 fund-raising requirement. But if you sign up before September 23rd the fundraising requirement is only $50!

Where: Building will take place on the Oakland (Edes Avenue) worksite. Find information and directions at: http://www.eastbayhabitat.org/where_we_build/edes_development.shtml

Who: Groups of 5-10 volunteers commit to raising the equivalent of $75 per group member through sponsorships and/or additional fundraisers. Don't forget: if you sign up before 9/23 the fundraising requirement is only $50!

How: Sign up online with our registration form. After registering, begin gathering donations. Be sure to fill out a Pledge Sheet for every group member! This is the key to giving your group credit for any online donations received. Everyone receives a free T-shirt, provided they complete the $75 fundraising requirement.

Registration deadlines is Friday, October 3rd!
