Kimchi Popcorn

Okay, so I've already mentioned this to several people before, but I gotta say it one more time. "Kimchi" popcorn takes sooo good!

Now that I've gotten your attention with all the "wtf? kimchi popcorn?" and the "eww, gross!" and whatever, really. It's good.

At work, we have a carnival-style popcorn machine that people can just use and make popcorn whenever. So back when I was a contractor, one of the other people came up with the idea of adding pepper when it was still heating. It turned out pretty good. From there on out, various ingredients were tried.

Tabasco sauce: Good.
Ketchup: Don't know, I wasn't there.
Green Tabasco: Don't know, supposedly it was just like the normal one.
Sugar: It's just like kettle corn!
Hot Chocolate Mix: Burns too easily, bad idea.
Parmesan Cheese and Red Peppers: Pretty good, does remind me a bit of pizza since it came from pizza packets.
Chicken Flavor: From a ramen packet, I wasn't there but supposedly it was good.
Beef Flavor: Also from a ramen packet, I missed out on this one too.
Kimchi Flavor: From the nong shim kimchi noodle bowls. The guy who was doing most of these experiments doesn't ever use a full packet when eating the noodles, so we tried tossing that in. I like it :)

Anyhow, I've been thinking of trying to replicate it at home since people either hate it or love it, but either way it tends to "contanminate" normal popcorn batches. Lately, I just add some of the stuff into whatever popcorn I get and shake it up a bit but that's just not the same. There's something about getting it fried into the popcorn..... I ought to go buy a bag of microwave popcorn and open it up and put some in to see if that works.

I would try kimchi popcorn in a second. Popcorn is like potato chips, pretty much any flavor tastes good. You should try salt and vinegar, maybe sounds horrible, but it's great.
