Nov 2006 G35s (sport, not plural)

I sent my car today for maintenance and got one of the new redesigned G35s sedans as a loaner. In short, it feels different.

The acceleration curve is definitely filtered like the Mercedes C-class cars I always diss, but it's got less of a lag compared to the C's, when in auto mode. In manual mode, it's a completely different car. Okay, it's not filtered anymore so it feels like my car except 40 more hp and a few percent more torque.

The driver seat feels so nice for some reason. But using the center console with all the gadgets is too dangerous. It feels distracting. I'd probably say the same about a BMW, a Lexus, an Acura, or a Benz as well, but I say this now cuz this is the first time I've been driving a car with a center console screen.

Overall, I think it feels a lot like a car Lexus would make. Some people like that, some people don't. It's got a more sporty image, but shifted the actual day-to-day drive experience to be more luxury. A bit disconnected from the road. :( But switching to manual mode fixes that. So I'm cool with that.

Shopping! :)

Roger forwarded me a link to a snowboard sale and convinced me into buying new gear. Thanks and damn you at the same time. :) $404 later, I'm going to be receiving a Burton Un Inc 160 cm snowboard and a pair of Burton Cartel bindings.

My current snowboard (Burton A55)(150cm) is at least 6 years old. It was used lightly by the previous owner who sold me his set for I think $150 off craigslist in Nov 2002.

This ought to be fun :)

Shoo! Go away, chair.

So I'm driving home yesterday evening and I see a wrecked chair just off to the left of my lane on highway 87. And a little voice in my head goes, "oh, hell no!" And before I realize it, I'm already on the right side of the lane. Nevermind that if I had continued as normal I wouldn't have hit it, but it's just funny to notice my automatic reaction to a chair in the road.
