Quiet times schedule update

We will continue morning quiet times through finals, but starting on Tuesday, May 13, they will be at 9 AM at the SLC.

Tuesday and Wednesday next week, which are the “dead days” before exams, we will be reading the short book of the prophet Haggai. Haggai’s message is about priorities and putting God first in our lives. I hope as we prepare for finals, that your studying would come from a heart of worship to God, rather than an act of independence and trusting your own ability.

Throughout the exam period (except Saturday), we will be meditating on one or two psalms each day. The psalms are full of awesome expressions of the psalmists’ hearts which question, struggle, and try to believe, just as we do. Even more than usual, you don’t have to worry about what you missed the day before, since each psalm is independent of the ones around it.

God bless you all and grace upon you for finals!

Banquet Videos

Yup, It’s about time guys.
In the following week, You guys are given some time to get together as a group to plan and shoot our annual ICA Banquet Video!!
This year, there will be three requirements for you to follow:
1. Theme: Bible Story in Modern Context
2. Length: 10 min. max
3. Line: One Bible verse (Paraphrasing allowed)
Here are the break-up of the groups:
A. Freshmen + The Small Group Leaders (David, Joel, Alice, Wendy)
B. Sophomores
C. Juniors + Seniors
D. Young Adults
Start brainstorming so that you can come up with a decent storyline and a schedule to shoot on April 26th.
First, when you come up with a storyline, please confirm with either Ezra or Danny to check if everything’s flowing well. Please do this as soon as possible before you start shooting to save you guys time.
Use this opportunity wisely to express your creativity and enjoy catching up with one another, but not to get overly consumed and end up affecting your grades.
i) Delegate responsibilities to as many individuals as possible i.e.) script writer, director, editor, schedule manager, actor, actresses
ii) Manage schedule effectively and effeciently i.e.) minmize big meetings (maybe just one in the beginning or none), minimize waiting time, meet in convenient times and locations
iii) Ask for HELP!! i.e.) Ask your friends for inputs, creativity, and clarity. ICA staff is a great resource you have so utilize your people resources.
Finally, a word for the director or the point person: Let the project continue to progress without you. Just because you are stuck or resting doesn’t mean the project needs to be stuck or resting with you as well. Let others take over and work on it as you take a break or take care of other stuff. All you need to do is provide clear directions to start the project. Afterwards, just receive updates to know how the project is progressing, so when you dive into the project again, you know exactly where to start and what to do.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact Ezra and he will do his best to aid you.
Alright, now…BREAK!!
