Introduction
Technology is growing at an ever faster rate. It is almost impossible to keep
track of all of the new gadgets that come out daily. Today's new discovery
may be tomorrow's old news. Can we all keep up? Techonology promised
to make our lives easier. It was designed to increase the amount of
time we have in a day. But has it? With increasing forms of communication, we can be contacted in just about everywhere. Does this present more pros than cons? These questions and many more will be answered in this website.
TIME
"From the moment we are conceived, we begin our descent through Time. We float and swirl in the innocence of youth till we are dropped into the responsiblities of adulthood. With no control of the tempo or duration, we wander in the sands till our bones become dust. Then, Father Time flips the hour glass and it begins all over again..." -Bruno
Topics that will be addressed:
- The history of time
- The purpose of its creation
- The evolution of the clock
- The effects technology has had on our sense of time
- Is this good for society?
- What can we do about this?
- Possible solutions
- Can it ever be solved?
Purpose
The purpose of this website is to prove that the increase in technology has increased the impatience of society. We often complain that we've been waiting hours for something that only took minutes. My motivation on this topic was based on the demand for an ever faster response. As more and more easier means of communication is created, we are expected to respond faster and faster. This has become an increasing problem with technology and we must study its effects rather than accept them.
