Mission

The mission of this club is to teach how to shoot rubber bands to all members and to have fun while doing this. After the goal of shooting in many different styles has been accomplished members can enjoy a plethora of games to enjoy through the use of shooting rubber bands.

Constitution

ARTICLE I

(1) Rubberband Club (RBC)

ARTICLE II - Purpose

(1) The purpose of our club is to teach people how to shoot rubberbands and to have fun shooting rubberbands.

ARTICLE III - Membership

(1) Everyone can be a member.

Only currently registered students, faculty and staff may be active members in a registered student organization. Only active members may vote or hold office. Constitution Student groups are required to include and abide by the following statement: We will not haze according to California State Law; we will not restrict membership based upon race, color, national origin, religion, sex, physical and mental disability, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship or status as a covered veteran (special disabled veteran, Vietnam-era veteran or any other veteran who served on active duty during a war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized).

ARTICLE IV - Officers/Elections

(1-a) We have a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Publicist, and Activities Coordinator.
(1-b) The President, Vice President and Activities Coordinator organize the teachings, meetings and events. The Treasurer is in charge of fundraising, ASUC funding and purchasing of supplies. The Publicist is in charge of publicity for the club and recruitment.
(2) Due to the small size of our club, elections would not work yet; however, if the club were to exceed 40 people, we will have to plan an annual election.

ARTICLE V - Meetings

(1) Meetings will occur once per week.
(2) Any officer can call the meetings.
(3) There is no quorum.
(4) In case of an emergency meeting, members will be reached by email.

ARTICLE VI - Constitutional Amendments

(1) Any member may propose amendments.
(2) The minimum period of time between the proposed amendment and a final vote is two weeks.
(3) The required majority of votes by your active, voting membership to pass an amendment is two thirds.
(4) Members will be notified one week in advance before the voting of an amendment.

ARTICLE VII - Dissolution

(1) Dissolution will occur when there are no more active members.
(2) Unspent funds will be given to the ASUC.

ARTICLE VIII - Safety

(1) In order participate in our activities, all members must read and sign the Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement.
(2) During outdoor activities we will ensure the safety of people that are walking by the activities will not get hit, by providing an enclosed space (both inside and outside).
(3) The President, the Vice President or an appointed signatory must supervise each meeting to ensure the following safety rules.
(4) Rubber bands will only be distributed after everyone at the meeting has put on safety goggles.
(5) Should anyone lose/take off their safety goggles during the meeting, that person or anyone who notices must call for everyone's attention for a ceasefire.
(6) Members are not allowed to shoot each other in unsafe conditions/without safety goggles (no eye protection, glasses do not count as eye protection).
(7) If a member sees other members shooting rubberbands in unsafe conditions, that member must report the incident.
(8) Members only get one warning for shooting rubberbands in unsafe conditions.
(9) If member is caught shooting rubberbands in unsafe conditions a second time, both the President and the Vice President can decide to remove the member from the club.
(10) The decision will be announced during the following week's meeting.
(11) Should a member feel a fellow member failed to abide by these safety rules and both the President and the Vice President chose not to remove the member in question, the member can ask for a majority vote for the member in question to be removed from the club.
(12) The quorum for such a vote is two thirds of current active members.
