Josh Eng is a fourth-year graduate student in the
Social/Personality Psychology area at UC-Berkeley. He received
his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign in 2003.
Josh's research interests fall into two broad categories. The
first is is emotion regulation. Specifically, he is examining
individual differences in the regulation of specific positive and
negative emotions, how these differences relate to well-being and
adjustment outcomes, and how all these effects are moderated by culture.
Josh's second area of interest is self-perception processes. In
particular, he is studying how self-enhancement bias (i.e., the
tendency to hold an overly positive self-view) influences social
outcomes such as liking, trust, and social closeness.
