So this was the first time I ever drove a car with a manual transmission up to Berkeley. Boy was I in for a surprise with them hills and stoplights at the top of the hill and all those other fun-filled driving experiences. But it was worth it: I met up with Anne for some spiritual guidance and free cheesecake (yay!) and even followed her toy shopping. Yes, toy shopping. There is an easily-amused little kid in every one of us, and sometimes I can't help but think that some people (Anne) are more in tune with that inner-self than others (the rest of the world).

Anyhow, there were lots of toys. But the only noteworthy ones were the Veggie Tales (they of The Song of the Cebú) things. I think anyone who saw us playing around with those must have been scared....

Here's Anne playing with a "bounce me and I talk" version of Larry-the-Cucumber. Notice the use of excessive violence and force on her part trying to make Larry say things. Tsk tsk...a gentle bounce is all that's needed...

And here I'm holding the stuffed tomato (I don't remember this dude's name...) on her head. I figured that since she liked being violent to the toys so much, why not "bounce" one of them on her head to make it say things like "God loves you very much and He made you special." Yes, an unlikely juxtaposition, but hey, I'm easily amused...
