Arlene is a pretty cool person. She was one of Ted's CS162 partners in the original MooCrewTM, and then was part of my CS152 group this past fall in the MooCrew's reincarnation as "Moocrew - part deux". Anyhow, she graduated at the end of the Fall 2001 semester (yay for Arley!) and so one of the very last things I got to do before leaving for the semester was go to her party and eat lots and lots of food. Mmmmmm....

So what's there to do at an Arley Graduation Party? Well, first of all, there was the alcohol. Holming came along for a few minutes...but that was only to grab a drink before going off to meet his brother for the Cal basketball game. But you can only drink so much before you end up passed out with a Macy's bag behind your head, oblivious to your surroundings, like Duke here...

Well, shortly thereafter, Arley whips out her Dreamcast and all her burned video games, and at Vanessa's suggestion, puts on DDR. AAAAAHHH! It's DDR! At least it wasn't like DDR at Disneyland or anything. Everyone here (except maybe Vanessa and a few of Arley's friends) was an amateur and well, there's nothing more amusing than watching a bunch of drunken college students trying to follow a bunch of random arrows flying across a TV screen.

But when that got old, Arley whips out this weird game with maraccas and salsa music and stuff. So from what I figure, it's a lot like DDR, but instead of using your feet to hit the appropriate arrows on the beat, you get to shake maraccas at the proper height on the beat or something. Yeah, strange...and surprisingly fun to play (though tiring on the forearms).

Oh yeah, how could I forget? Arley had a Pooh bear...

And in the end, I had to go leave early because I was sleepy and I had to pack up a bunch of my stuff as I was going home the next day. But I woke up with sore forearms for the next two days...damn them maracas!
