So ever since Lily moved out near Lake Merritt in Oakland, she'd
been telling me about all these birdies that there were to feed,
specifically: ducks, geese, and pigeons. Now I'm not exactly the
biggest fan of pigeons myself, but I thought I'd go check it out while
visiting Lily and Robert....

Here are all the pigeons gathered around
little pockets of crushed cereal that someone left in piles for them
to eat. What's really scary is when someone comes jogging by, and
the entire flock of them goes flying off in the distance as one
gigantic group.
 |
And here's Lily feeding one of the geese.
What you don't see in the picture is that further left of
this one goose, there was huge crowd of them loitering in the middle
of the street trying to get those little pieces of bread that we
were throwing in their general direction. More than two drivers
were slightly annoyed by this, I bet.

And here's a pigeon eating birdseed out of
Lily's hand. At times, there were up to four or five pigeons
perched on lily's lap fighting for this stuff; she was just a regular
"bird lady" in the park....

Here was one of the pigeons that stood out
over the others: because it was mostly white.
