Tracy won four passes to Sea World in San Diego in a Christmastime raffle in December 2001. Eight months later, with time running out on their validity, the whole "sunk costs" thing started to win out, and the tickets had to be used. Who used the four tickets? Why, Tracy, Ted, Yolanda, and me. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Here's one of those "Caution! Illegal Immigrant Crossing!" signs you see on the 5 near San Diego.

Here are some penguins. One of the cool things about this penguin exhibit (well, cool compared to the SF Zoo) is that you can actually see them swimming underwater and stuff.

Here's the "set" of the Sea Lion/Otter show. Beforehand, if you look toward the right near the giant toilet, there's one of the "stage crew" members with a blond wig, singing and dancing along with Britney's "Hit Me Baby One More Time." It was rather amusing....

And here's Tracy in Ted's St. Andrews hat, posing with a Shamu ice cream popsicle in the sun. (Look, her arms aren't sunburnt bright red yet!)

Here's a dolphin doing its thing for the crowd, while the people in wet suits pose behind it, taking all the credit for what this dolphin's doing.

This is a whale jumping out of water really really high. Imagine what humans could do if they were half as acrobatic as these creatures....

This is a (blurry) shot of some tropical-looking fish swimming around

Here's a close-up shot of another fish. I don't remember what this thing was called, only that it was really big.

I think these are sharks of some sort. If they're not, then they're some kind of fish. Just be happy the picture came out clear, ok?

Here's a stingray swimming by....

I think this one was called Cirque De La Mer, and it had a Cirque de soliel feel to it....of course, if you look out at the floating trampoline and see the dude sitting on it, he was picked out of the audience in a pre-show competition of sorts that was amusing. Later, he gets forced into that clear ball thing.

Here's tracy gagging at the sight of a gigantic milk bottle

Here's two shots of the patriotic (it's supposed to be blue with red/white stripes...kinda like an American flag) light display at night; first from underneath the thing, and second from far away.

And here's shots of us posing with a manatee (I think that's what it was) statue, pretending to be having a blast!
