After nine years of speculation, Ted and Tracy finally got married. Sherylen's still convinced that they did it in late April so that Tracy would get married before she did, but I still hold onto my theory that since April costs less, it made more sense. That, and since it was in Livermore, it would've been way too hot to have it any later in the summer.

As part of the "bridal party" (some PC people would call it "wedding party," but let's face it: weddings are for the bride anyway, so calling it a bridal party is pretty much the same thing), I was privy to the preparation activities, such as the rehearsal...

...and then the morning-of-the-wedding setup of the reception hall.
Here I'm stringing some wire around some support beams in an attempt to hang lanterns for the decorations. Ok, so in this shot, I'm really hanging on for dear life so I don't fall.

And of course, there's the token photographer-posed groomsmen shot (I haven't shown the one that was taken on top of a tractor):

...and the shot of the entire bridal party looking at Ted and Tracy:

Nothing tells the story more than what happens to those of us in the bridal party who aren't family:

Whether it's to fight the allergy-inducing pollen in the windy air, or to stay out of the scalding-hot sun, Larry, Jessica, and I were perched in chairs under a tree while the family pictures were being taken post-ceremony. Sure, we could have been doing something useful like guiding the guests in the reception hall with the guestbook signing or something, but naaaah...

And the biggest perk of being part of the bridal party was having a seat in the front, right next to the cake. Here I got a shot of the unity-candle lighting (and in the background, you can see the paparazzi waiting to take the same shot with the cake in the way.

And speaking of cake....no, I wasn't being greedy (though the thought did cross my mind); I was getting a piece for Sherylen too. Honest!

And here's a shot of Sherylen and me with the newlyweds, shortly before they took off in their appropriately-decorated car. I had nothing to do with that. Really. :)
