Sunday, September 26th, 2004i love the yom kippur service, especially with chabad.
i think what really makes chabad so wonderful is they truly love all their fellow jews. the rabbis and people associated with it, man, i hope someday to have even a fraction of the character, knowledge, and wisdom that they do. they know how to love and trust with open hearts. it’s such a beautiful thing.
and the service, wow. the part where we remember the kohen gadol and what he did, where we lay down on the ground. the sounds and the atmosphere and everything, it was like i was at the kotel again. just the feeling of it, thousands of years. feeling all the previous generations and the entire nation, hashem’s presence over us, everything. the whole service, the idea of it all. i just feel so lucky to be a jew. i really hope to return home someday.
