body control and commitments

Wednesday, May 25th, 2005

the semester’s finally done. one class left. a lot of things have gone by past few days or weeks.

i’m really trying to gain more body control. it’s kind of strange, on one hand it feels really liberating discovering, whoa, i can move this, on the other hand it’s kind of tough, because progress is mad slow. i mean, it’s way more than i could do say two months ago, but like trying to move my neck or my lats or my upper back and what not and it only moving like a few mm’s, it’s kind of like that stomach turning feeling. but on the other hand, when it does move and feeling those muscles actually working it’s mad cool. yeah. sounds kind of weird but that’s how it is. as far as dancing i feel in the same spot. it’s kind of like when working out and you’re all working on your chest but eventually you have to work on your back to go any farther. or like in breakdancing when you reach that point where you need to build strength and just keep working on specific things and it gets all stale and kind of boring because it’s moving all slow. it’s like a little plateou or however that’s spelled. kind of feel stuck in the mud, but trying to get through it, hopefully in a few weeks or months more progress will come.

being at home is a trip. my parents work mad freaken hard. and it seems like time just passes by and there’s all these things to fix up and catch up and no time. i try to help, but it’s mad tough. must be way tougher for them and for my brother.

i’ve realized that one of the biggest things i’d like to improve on is being careful not to take on commitments i don’t want or can’t handle. this seems so simple, but i don’t think most people get it, including myself. it’s all part of time management. i really need to take care of business and start clean and moving. i’m starting a little book with mini goals and daily and weekly reviews. i guess it’s a start. yeah. this sounds boring, but that’s where i’m at right now.

by the way, if anyone wants old cog sci/cs/linguists/philosophy/spanish readers. i also have some vision science book and the on to java books and the dos mundos books. let me know. i hate throwing books away. but i need to do a lot of cleaning. but internal and external and this is part of it. i’m also selling my turntables and records. they’re technics 1200m3d’s. the mixer’s a stanton sk6. most of the records are sf house, but there’s also lots of good downtempo. there’s also some trance and drum and bass. there are also a few hip hop tracks. let me know if you’re interested. i’ll give a better deal for movementers, especially if you buy everything.

some things to do. talk less. plan things with breaks in between. don’t take on responsibilities you can’t handle, and don’t put them on others. yeah. it’s always good to see good people doing well. houses, clearity, changed situations, lightened loads, improvements. yeah. good stuff. =)

ok gotta go take care of some business. later gators.

oh yeah, and to keep a promise. quote of the day from saturday night. from a cab driver, teaching game, as he sips from his metal flask (the little flat thing you drink hard stuff from): “you gotta butter up the popcorn and then then you get the pussy.”
