ah. i’ve had a wide mouth. this repeats, though less often. must stop it.

so today i thought i’d be smart and get the latest and greatest text editor. turns out i got a trojan, not the condom either. 3.5 hours later, with the help of Avast, Search and Destroy, ZoneAlarm, Adaware, SpywareBlaster, RegCleaner, and finally HijackThis… the comp seems to be back to normal. Major kudos go to Avast for spotting it, SandD for stopping the reg changes, ZA for blocking it from the net, and HT for letting me stop and erase whatever it was that was making my system go crazy. that was scary…
