Loose "clamshell"/lid/monitor (discussion created Nov. 20, 00 5:31 pm)
original message by: colin smith   System Info: Bronze PB : Mac OS 9.0 :
About a month or so ago, the "lid" to my PB started having to much play in it. Grasping it lightly from the top, I can easily wiggle it a centimeter or two before it feels firm. My concern is that it may get progressively worse. I've never dropped it. Any solutions? Colin

I have also begun to experience a lot of play in the lid of my G3 Wallstreet computers. What is making this problem unique only to the G3 Series PowerBooks of 1998? Has this problem been fixed in subsequent PowerBooks (Lombard, Pismo, etc.)?

I am concerned about the high cost of this repair and would like to know why this problem is so far manifest in only one type of Apple PowerBook. A reply to this message from tech support would be appreciated. Thank you.
