Kenny's Pictures, Batch No. 6
This batch includes everything from the beginning of Spring semester 2000 till
Spring Break, so roughly from January to March 2000. It includes many pictures of
our CC staff, as well as many class and experimental shots.
CKC-CC Staff Potluck Pictures, March 2000
After much planning by Liz, this potluck finally materialized in March. Everyone showed
up, and we were all one big happy group eating and playing games. Since there are
too many pictures to describe, I'll put them in chronological order without
notation. Most of them involve the "dares" we had to do in order to get our secret
presents. Let's see, stats: N8008s, AF-35/2 or AIS-135/2.8, Kodak Royal Gold 100.
The next roll (Reala-100) from the potluck... most of these are from the things the
losing team had to do (the new staff... the old staff won).
Other staff pictures taken during or close to the time of the potluck.
New Lens Pictures, March 2000
I got two new lenses, the AF-35/2 and the AIS-135/2.8. I wanted to test them out to see
how they were, so I ran a roll of Royal Gold 100 through it with my N8008s. A couple of
pictures came out really nicely, which are included here.
Night Photography Class, February 2000
These pictures were a part of my work that I did for my Night Photography class. The black
and white ones are from the Berkeley Marina. Specifications: T-Max 400 film, N8008s,
AF/28-80D, Gelatin Silver Print by self.
Other Black and White Photographs, Spring 2000
Here are some other Black and White work that I've done. Some of the enlargements
are from 6x4.5cm format, which is exciting. My B+W printing skills are still somewhat
lacking, but at least I can sort of correct things in Photoshop.
President's Day Weekend, February 2000
I went back home for the President's Day weekend to buy a new camera. Here are some
of the pictures that I took with the new camera (Nikon N8008s) with Kodak Gold 100.
- Night shot of
my High School
Gee, it even looks ominous at midnight when there's no one there.... I'm just glad
I'm no longer stuck there =). (50.5 KB)
- My Backyard When?
Guess when I took this picture. 2:00 or so in the afternoon, perhaps? Nope, try 1:30
in the morning! It's not possible, you say. Oh, but it is, when it's a full moon and the
shutter's open for eight minutes. Pretty interesting picture! (55.5 KB)
- A Flower in the
Moonlight
This picture is of a flower in my backyard lit only by the moonlight. It took about
four and a half minutes to expose correctly. (25.1 KB)
- A Flower illuminated
I used a flash with this picture off camera to create the shadow effect. The shutter was on
bulb when I flashed it. (30.1 KB)
- Orange County Performing
Arts Center, #1
A night photo of one of the neatest-looking buildings in OC, the OCPAC. (52.6 KB)
- Orange County Performing
Arts Center, #2
Same building, different angle. Thanks to Lucy for coming out with me to take these pictures!
(61.1 KB)
- Irvine City Hall
One of the nicest-looking city halls in OC. The other side looking from the street (Harvard
and Alton) is much cooler, but it was raining so this will have to do for now. (40.1 KB)
- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts,
Orange
A fast establishing LA institution imported from the East, I find myself having to always
drop by when I'm back there. Dee-licious. And besides, the colors in the pictures turned out
pretty cool. (40.6 KB)
- The Block at Orange
OC's newest shopping center with a nice outdoor setting and a huge megaplex theatre. (44.5 KB)
- Out of the Window on the I-5
I wanted to finish off the film in the camera so I could get it developed, and so this is what
happened while driving back up to Berkeley. A nice shot of some mountains right after the
Grapevine. (54.7 KB)
End of Winter Break 2000 in Orange County, January 2000
These were from some trips I took around Orange County in January. They're on Royal
Gold and scanned by the Kodak PictureCD people. They include pictures of the Bolsa
Chica Wetlands, San Juan Capistrano Mission, Dana Point, and Huntington Beach.
