April 19, 2011
Hi class,We have changed the grading on the syllabus as well as the website. The new grading options are as follows:
Option A
Assignmnet: 90
Attendance: 20
No Final
Option B
Assignment: 60
Attendance: 20
Final: 30
We still have two HWs left (HW for next week, April 25, will be worth 20 points). If you currently have more than 55 points, you should be in good shape - assuming you'll turn in the next few HWs and you have regular attendance.
The way attendance works is we subtract 2 points for every absence you have. If you e-mailed us ahead of time, we won't count that against you. If you have below 70 points after all HWs and attendance has been added, you will need to take the final to pass the class. Please feel free to email us with any questions.

January 20, 2011
Our first meeting will be on January 24 at 5 PM Evans Basement. Please go to http://latex.berkeley.edu/enrollmentstatus.html to check the status of your enrollment.
We will automatically drop those who are absent on the first and second day of class and move those who are on the waiting list.
We will give out CCN (course control numbers) on the second meeting of class and this will be the final enrollment procedure.
Due to the high volume of enrollment (60++) we highly appreciate that you remove yourself form the enrollment list if you feel that this class is not for you.
If you want to be removed from the enrollment list please send me an email to give room to those who are truly dedicated in taking the class.
The class is two units - no exceptions.
