Crissy left for Taiwan today and she'll be gone for a year
studying Mandarin at the prestigious Taiwan University. I won't
be able to see her until December 20. Ra, I'm gonna miss her. She's
my closest sister and we were roomies for a year in college. Haha,
I remember how I used to check up on her in the dorms to make sure
everything was ok. Anyway, I started crying before she left and
she said it made her feel sad. Heehee, I'm so emotional. Anyway,
read about her adventures here.

I ran into Jeff at Japantown and it turns out he's finally
done with law school and moving back to the bay area soon. Afterwards,
I roamed around Golden Gate Park and figured out where Huntington
Falls and the Golden Gate Pavilion were located. They're all adjacent
to Stow Lake and I kinda wanna try paddle boating there on a nice,
warm day. It was kinda creepy to see all fog roll in around 4ish.
The Conservatory of Flowers was gorgeous with all the colorful flowers.

I got to watch Wicked with Crissy, Jennifer, and Lauren. I ran
into Brian at the show. We had awesome seats, up front &in the
second row. We were so close to the performers that we could see
their mics. I didn't expect the musical to be so funny especially
Glinda's character and the soundtrack is so catchy. The actress
that played Madame Morrible was in Princess Bride and the Wizard
used to be in Married with Children. Yay for Crissy for organizing!
I now have the Wicked soundtrack on repeat.

Louise gathered all her Cal and KPMG friends for a reunion
at Crepevine in Oakland. It was fun chatting with random people.

I never celebrated my graduation and my parents were going
to have their 27th wedding anniversary on the 14th so decided to
have a nice lunch at Le Cheval
in Oakland. Service was quick and I think it was a nice introduction
of French Vietnamese food for my parents who hardly go out and eat.
At night, I tagged along with Crissy and her friends to Dave and
Busters. We had fun with all the racing games but realized how horrible
we were at shooting games. Anyway, it was like a Moreau reunion
with tons people from Crissy's class and I felt old. =p Haha.

Louise was up this weekend for the first time after moving
back to socal. We had dinner at a Berkeley favorite, Thai House.
Afterwards, I tagged along with her to a birthday get together at
the Rosewood Room in San Francisco. Grrr, finding parking in North
Beach is so tough on a Friday night. It was funny because I didn't
know who the birthday person was but I ran into Adam from BAP, my
high school friend Lawrence who has an Emmy, and a random Cal guy
that I barely recognized. He just went up to me and said, you're
Lena and I was like you look vaguely familiar but not really. It
turns out it was Henry back from my AAA days. =p He looks a lot
of different now, so strange to see what a difference four years
makes. Afterwards, Louise and I tried to drive around SF to see
the tourist traps but I guess they shut off all the lights after
midnight because Coit Tower and the Palace of Fine Arts weren't
that impressive in the shadows.

I went kayaking with Emily, Jean, Shawna and some of their
friends at Johnson's Beach.
We were able to paddle back and forth in the Russian River, a pretty
calm river where you don't have to deal with scary rapids. I was
too chicken to jump off from the tree log that was a few stories
high and it was alarming to watch Eddie flip turns because it looked
like he was drowning. I got a nice tan that day though, even though
my tummy got a bit sunburned.

I had dinner with Emily and Stephanie at Unicorn,
a restaurant in Berkeley that serves Pan-Asian food. Richard always
takes his dates to this place for a first date dinner so I thought
it might be a worthwhile place to try out. The restaurant has a
nice ambiance with candles and the curtain of flowing water in the
front. We ordered their Specialty Rolls sampler, and Duck Curry.
Yum!
