I watched a cool show on PBS today - design:
e². It focuses on environmentally friendly architecture
and the show is narrated by Brad
Pitt. There are 6 episodes in this series:
- the green apple
- green for all
- the green machine
- gray to green
- china: from red to green
- deeper shades of green
Check your local TV listings. Highly recommended. Each episode
is 30 minutes.

Happy Birthday Crissy, quarter of a century!!!

bg treated me to dinner at Sutra near the Embarcadero for helping
him study the GMATs. I was craving Asian Fusion. I really liked
the ambiance of this place but totally despised how there was a
huge party of 40 women next to us, some sort of company awards dinner.
bg and I couldn't hear anything even though we were sitting two
feet apart. Anyway, the food was very good. We ordered:
- Trio De Carpaccio
- Braised Pork Ribs
- Sutra Roll
- Chinese Long Beans
- Miso marinated Black Cod
- Grilled Flat Loin Kobe Steak

- Burgundy Theory cotton button down shirt
- Kimono top
- Red cardigan
- Cropped, red jacket with balloon sleeves
- Fitted jacket made of sweatshirt material
- Pinstripe dress pants
- Multi-colored scarf

I made tortilla soup in a crock pot but next time I'm going
to caramelize the onions first before tossing them in. The onions
did not caramelize at all, even though I cooked the soup for more
than four hours. Also, maybe a tad less cumin and chili powder.

bg's roommate loves pizza with a passion and he recommended
that we order take out from Zante
Pizza. They make Indian Pizza, an interesting combination but
it works.

Resolutions for 2007:
- Find an apartment closer to work
My commute needs to be more bearable (two hours and 15 minutes
each day is wearing thin though I shouldn't complain because poor
Mark makes the trek to Berkeley from Menlo Park). This move is
especially necessary because work is sneakily becoming more needy
and high maintenance.
- Cook more
I keep saying this each year but living in my own cozy apartment
should make it more plausible.
- Run a half marathon
Since bg is doing a triathlon I want to race, too. Any girls interested
in the Nike Women's
Marathon in San Francisco on October 21, 2007? The half marathon
is a crazy 13.1 miles. Let me know and we can start training!
I'm gonna run a 5K and 10K in preparation.
- Aim for 18% body fat
I'm flabby. This must end.
- Visit Chicago
It is the source of all our woes at work but an exciting city
nonetheless. Do we sense a pattern here? I tend to visit cities
where our major clients are located. I can already check off New
York City and Washington DC and Oakland and San Francisco are
local. Anyway, how does May
sound with an average high of 70 and average low of 51?
- Visit more cities around the U.S.
I wouldn't mind visiting Seattle, Boston, Vancouver, Whistler,
or Hawaii.

Happy New Year! What will 2007 have in store for us?
I had brunch with Louise and got to meet her two German Shepherds
- Sake and Sakura. It's so cute, Louise talks about them like they're
her kids. Afterwards, we took them for a walk to the park and I
was impressed when they totally ignored this mean, barking German
Shepherd that lives a few blocks away.
I picked up bg from the Oakland Airport and I must say, I hate
driving to the airport and circling around. It was good seeing bg
though after his long vacation |
