I got horribly sunburned at the Berkeley
Kite Festival. We watched all the colorful kites while we snacked
on sandwiches from Andronicos. Watching the excited little kids
was fun. The octopus kites were the best. Adaptation with Nicholas
Cage was kinda weird.

I went to Cheryl's good bye lunch at Gordon Bierch's and
then went shopping with Katie at Union Square.

bg and I made pesto pasta and watched Lord of War, great
ending btw.

I think I'm outgrowing Urban Outfitters. *gasp* Yup, I used
to love this store and all its unique clothing but my tastes are
changing. Sigh, what will replace Urban?

I stole Crissy's String Doll. They're handmade with a single piece
of string in Thailand. The one Crissy had was called Dark Boy and
it scares bg cause it looks voodoo-ish. You can see the entire collection
here.

I had dinner at Koi Palace.

bg and I finally got to use my birthday present and we drove
around a go-cart all around
SF. Heehee, so fun and we got a lot of looks from people on the
street. The only sad thing was that we forgot to bring our camera.
It was such a nice day to be out and about too. The gps guide is
really accurate. I wanna go back and visit Fort Point and take a
photo of Hopper's Hands and Paws.

We had a late lunch at Tarantino's but it wasn't very good. Sigh,
at least the view was decent. bg's parents made us a yummy light
pasta with shrimp for dinner, just a little olive oil and herbs.

I've been hearing a lot about POM,
how they're delicious with mixed drinks and full of antioxidants
(ah, the wonders of marketing). Anyway, so I decided to try their
new teas. I bought a Pomegranate Black Tea and Pomegranate Peach
Passion White Tea. White tea is made from young tea leaves (ahhh,
stupid Snapple commericals). The verdict: they're pretty refreshing
but a tad expensive. The most appealing aspect are their unique
bottles which can double as a vase for a few roses with a trimmed
stems. It's novel to be drinking fruit tea from a wide lip container;
you feel like you're drinking tea from a high ball glass rather
than something you got from the supermarket. Other tea flavors include:
- Pomegranate Black Tea
- Pomegranate Lychee Green Tea
- Pomegranate Blackberry Black Tea
I still miss the white pea drink, Le
Tea from 7-11 in Taiwan. =d

I met up with bg and had dinner at Anjou,
this cute little French restaurant hidden away in an alley. I had
a yummy veal pasta.

My sister bought me Calendula grape peeling gel to help exfoliate
the dead skin from my face. It works pretty well and you can get
it at any the Face Shop
store in Asia. For those that don't know, the Face Shop is a South
Korean-based retailer of body, bath, skin care and make-up products
aimed at both women and men.

We had breakfast at the Ramp and wow, service there can be
really rude. I wasn't very hungry and so I told the server I only
wanted a latte and he totally glared at me and was rude to me the
rest of the afternoon. Sigh, never going there again. bg and I went
urban hiking around the Financial District and shot some photos.
For dinner we went to Sundance
for some super yum prime rib. Portions are better than HPR.

bg and I had some yummy burrittos at Pancho Villa in the
Mission. I got some Jasmine ice cream at the Bombay Ice Cream Factory
but bg didn't like it at all.

My mom bought me a pair of Kate Spade sunglasses but I think
they're too rectangular for my face. Sigh. I like the frame color
though, pale pink on the sides and black in the front.

Katie, Sandy, and I visited the deYoung Museum and I think
the best part of the museum was the view from the Tower, gorgeous
360 views of San Francisco. Afterwards, I had Afternoon Tea with
the girls at the Secret
Garden. I ordered the Bedford's Delight - a scone with devon
cream and preserves, six assorted delicious tea sandwiches, a tasty
savory, and a pastry. The party next to us was have a Mad Hatter's
Tea Party and dressed up in funky costumes.
bg and I visited Twin Peaks afterwards and he was impressed at
how I was able to change from a dress into jeans and a tank really
easily in the car. Heehee, I wonder what all the tourists thought
of me. For dinner we had Japanese food at Moshi Moshi.

For those that are confused by all the variations:
- Cappuccino = 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, and 1/3 frothed
milk
or
1/3 espresso and 2/3 microfoam
- Latte = 1/3 espresso and two-thirds steamed milk
- Latte macchiato = Latte created by pouring the espresso on top
of the foam
- Macchiato = espresso with a small dollop of foam
- Mocha = espresso combined with chocolate syrup and a liberal
amount of foamy steamed milk

We went to a bbq at Alcorn's in the Marina but we were there
too early and there was no food. Sad. Turns out bg is not the only
music expert out there and he had competition with Eric. We hopped
to another bbq in the Sunset and watched the fireworks at Turtle
Hill. I'm gonna take Leslie's advice and watch them from Fort Mason
next year.
07.03.06
I had a very early breakfast with bg and Katie at Bette's
Oceanview Diner. Mmm, strawberry souffle pancakes. bg worked at
my office and commented on how quiet it was. We bailed out early
and watched Collateral.

bg and I cooked breakfast for Brent's parents. We made omlets,
fluffy apple pancakes, and grilled apple sausages. bg made some
chicken tacos for a bbq. If you want a cat, please adopt one from
the SPCA. |
