I had lunch with Jason at Pasta Pomodoro at Bay Street. It was fun catching up with him because the last time we really hungout was junior year in college. He's taking Japanese classes and wants to earn his MBA in Japan. Anyway, we watched Shrek 2. Heehee, Puss in Boots is so cute and funny. I love the scene where he gets caught with cat nip and screams it isn't mine. I really can't compare Shrek 2 to the first one because I only half watched the first one. Afterwards, Jason was craving for some ice cream so we went to Coldstone Creamery. Haha, it's hilarious how indecisive we both are (we stared at the menu forevers) but finally settled on some yummy strawberry shortcake ice cream.

Sigh, I hate how staying up late messes up my internal clock. Even if I go to bed late, I still wake up at 6:30 am and end up sleepy all day. Bleh, must learn to not be such a light sleeper.

Crissy finally moved out of Berkeley today so no more playing in Berkeley at night. I'll be working in Berkeley for at least one more year until I'm finished with grad school. Sometimes it's weird working so close to campus but I don't really mind. Heehee, at least I get to visit the Urban Outfitters weekly.

I got my first pedicure today with Katie and her friend Cynthia. Haha, my feet are super ticklish. Sandy got her eyebrows threaded; I like how her eyebrows have a distinct arch now.

I'm sad that JCrew no longer has it's ridiculously cheap sales anymore. Sales items used to be in the affordable $0-30 range.

So many goodbyes this week. Tim finally left for Oregon; I got him a cute Mashimaro in a yellow track suit. We keep making fun of how fat the Mashimaro is. Mike is leaving for Anaheim this week.

I always get depressed when I realize how far I've grown apart to people who I used to consider as my best friends. Maybe relationships complicate things. Anyway, things just aren't the same. Different interests, different agendas, different personalities, the past shared experiences seem like fleeting moments. It makes me feel really cynical and unappreciated and more inclined to keep people at arm's length. I guess what's a slap in the face is when you hear that they're still great friends with other people and despite your efforts they could care less to hangout with you, and all you wanted to do was say goodbye. Bleh, I don't care. Whatever.

You know you're too short if you need a foot stool in order to get into bed. Gah, the top of my bed is three feet high. On the plus side, I'm finally used to my new bed and naps are my new favorite hobby. I dunno why I'm so tired all the time.

Bleh, I only get one week off between spring quarter and summer quarter and I still have to work anyway. >< I need a vacation! OK, with some luck with classes being offered when I need them, I might still be able to take Crissy to Europe in April 2005. Heehee, she wants to go for two weeks, let's go for a month!

Information on the 2004-2004 Cal Performance season is out now. I'm so excited that Cirque Eloize is back; they'll be performing on January 29-30, 2005. Single tickets go on sale on August 22.

Congratulations Crissy, you finally graduated! I went to her College of Natural Resources graduation. I made her a rose bouquet with two dozen orange roses and pink and yellow tulle. I was trying to imitate the HK-style flower bouquets but failed miserabley. I now know why they're worth $60; it takes forever to assemble. Roses at Costco are cheap, only $12 for two dozen! I still like dual toned roses but pink roses are nice too. Bleh to red and typicalness.

Anyway, I loved how her reception served petit fours, which are like little cakes dipped in frosting, often served at weddings or places that serve afternoon tea. They were soooooo good.

Check out the 2004-2005 Best of Broadway season. I'm definitely buying tickets to Evita for my parents. This was the only Broadway show they got to watch while they were still living in New York City.

I had dinner with Nick at La Mediterranee in Berkeley. I had no idea how close it was to my sister's place, much less walking distance. I used to think it was further down near Safeway. But finally, I got to try the restaurant because my friends are always raving about how tasty the food is. Anyway, I ordered the Middle Eastern Plate and Nick had the Chicken Kebab. I need to find a sunny weekend and go exploring around the Rockridge and Elmwood area.

My parents are horrified that I always wear these ratty pair of leather Mary Janes, especially since I have a closet full of pretty shoes. However, the BART station is about a 15 minute walk from my work so I like wearing comfy shoes that I don't care about ruining.

I like how on Sundays, Mutts always has interesting title panels. Anyway, a recent title panel was a reference to Yoshitomo Nara. Urban Outfitters has been selling his postcards.

This watch is so cute yet so sexually explicit. Bunnysutra by Swatch; it helps you choose positions.

Man, I'm sore and sun burned; Katie and I walked Bay to Breakers today, all 7.5 miles in three hours. In comparison, the winner ran it in 35 minutes! Oh my. Anyway, we bumped into Jean and Carol Chang. Haha, I saw tons of cool costumes, including all these pink genies, salmon chased by a sushi chef, quite a few nekkid people, a pack of running Elvises, flying tortillas, and more. Next year, I'm gonna bring candy and more snacks, totally need more sugar for energy.

These animal rubber bands are so cute from the Container Store. I remember when I had braces and got to choose different colored rubber bands.

I went to a yummy BBQ in the South Bay hosted by some Bappers. Thanks for the ride Ken; hehe everyone seems to know how I hate driving on freeways! Anyway, the BBQ was hella yum; I'm always upset on how quickly I get full because I miss the opportunity to pig out on tons of delish food. Did you know soy sauce, sugar, and Pepsi make a good marinade? Must try that sometime, especially since I realized that we have a new indoor grill.

I will like to reiterate . . . I LOVE Sheng Kee cakes and pasteries. Spoil me. ; p

Yay! I finally finished my French Memo Board after slowly buying all the materials I needed over a year. It was such a group effort though. =p I was scared of using the power staple gun, so my dad helped out and I can't sew very well so my mom did the buttons.

Huge granite animal sculptures by Beniamino Bufano were moved recently to the Randall Museum, a free museum of art and science near the Castro. Bufano was legendary San Francisco artist, who taught at UC-Berkeley and the California College of Arts & Crafts in Oakland from 1964-65. His art is characterized as simple in style and monumental in scale, usually including smoothly rounded animals in granite and icons sheathed in stainless steel.

I like the mother bear with its two cubs. I wonder if there bear sculptures on campus are by Bufano also.

When I saw this article, I totally cracked up. Heehee, a lot of the Oakland A's players are definitely cute, especially Barry Zito and Bobby Crosby. The A's have the best commercials too; the Mark Mulder one with the screaming girls is hilarious.

I went to a Jason Jung BBQ, which according to everyone is a real treat. He lives in the hills in Marin and has an awesome house. His parents are avid collectors (from vintage toys to sports memorabilia) and it was funny how Jason kept on giving little tours for all the guests. Oh yeah, they have snakes, turtles, and tarantulas, too.

Anyway, it was Mark's 25th birthday so Denny busted out the grill and BBQ'ed tons of meat: hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, etc. I loved how I just kicked back and chilled while all the guys prepped the food. Mark marinated the ribs in beer and boiled them for an hour. According to him, cheap beer works fine. Jason prepped a yummy spinach salad. Byron chopped up all the veggies. And I just pigged out. =p Heehee, I need to find a bf that cooks cuz I'm lazy when it comes to cooking. Oh, and I can't forget, I finally got to taste Mrs. Jung's famous madeline cookies which Amy used to rave lots about.
