I had breakfast with a friend at the Ferry Building; I love being able to outdoors on nice days. Afterwards, we went hiking on the Land's End trail where you have breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. The trail ended really close to the Legion of Honor, so we browsed through the galleries afterwards.

I showed a friend around the Berkeley campus. I think when most people's impression of Berkeley is Telegraph Ave., they get really surprised about how nice the campus is. My top three favorite places on campus to show people are the Babel Library installation of floating books done by Ignacio Rabago inside Doe Library, the recently restored interior of Heart Memorial Mining Building, and the view on the Golden Gate Bridge from the top of the stairs by the Campanile. Afterwards, we explored around Normandy Village where it feels like you're in a fairy tale. We had dinner at La Med and I think my favorite appetizer was the Chicken Cilicia, which has chicken mixed with chickpeas, almonds, raisins, cinnamon and spices. Afterwards, we chatted over yummy chai at A Cuppa Tea. It was funny how the waitress thought we were still in high school.

Brian invited me to a concert at the Warfield. I got to see Rufio, Relient K, and MXPX. I felt really old there; there were a bunch of high school kids there. Heehee, but I felt kinda like a groupie during Relient K's set.

Go bears! Yay, we won big game.

I went urban hiking again with a friend. We went to Sutro Baths and munched on pastries from the Ferry Building. Sutro Baths offers awesome views of the Pacific Ocean. I like how the remains of the structure kinda look like ancient Roman ruins. Anyway, while we were chatting we saw all these police officers go through a tunnel through the cliff that we walked through an hour earlier. Later, I read in the paper that some hikers discovered two skulls. How scary! Afterwards we enjoyed the views from Cliff House and China Beach. We had Kitaros for a late lunch; heehee, we're such messy eaters. We swung by the Conservatory of Flowers but a lot of the flowers were dead.

I had a Europe Reunion dinner at Andalu, a yummy restaurant in the Mission that serves tapas. Andrew and Jeff are finally finished with law school and passed their bar exam. Everyone teased me when I ordered the Crispy Mac and Cheese with Herb Tomato Vinaigrette but hey they were good. =p Afterwards, we had some drinks at a bar nearby called Cama. I had a drink made with peach vodka. Then we went to Moshen's place in Bernal Heights and looked at Europe photos and reminisced about funny Europe memories.

I had brunch at the Ramp in SOMA with a friend. It has outdoor seating so a great place to have brunch on a warm, sunny day in SF. Supposedly they make great bloody marys but I don't think I can handle liquor that early in the morning. =p Afterwards, we wandered around San Francisco: Coit Tower, Filbert Steps, Greenwich Steps, Washington Square Park, Lombard Street, San Francisco Art Institute, Legion of Honor, Palace of Fine Arts. I was really excited that I finally discovered where the Diego Rivera mural is located. Anyway, I think one of my favorite views around SF is the balcony view from the SF Art Institute; you get a great view of Coit Tower to the east and Marina to the north. We had dinner at B44 at Belden Place. I had yummy pork chops and my friend had the duck.

I listened to Ira Glass from NPR at Zellerbach, highly entertaining.

Beard Papa is coming to San Francisco! It'll be located on Yerba Buena Lane. I always drop by for yummy cream puffs when I visit NYC. Green tea is my favorite flavor.

I made yummy pumpkin muffins today. This was a good recipe, flavorful and not too dry.

Woohoo, H&M is finally opening in SF. There will be two locations: 150 Powell Street and 150 Post Street. I first discovered H&M when I was visiting Europe during June 2002. I've shopped at their NYC and DC stores. Their Stella McCartney line looks awesome; I love that pale pink silk top with the flutter sleeves. When I was in DC I was able to buy a silk top and silk dress from their Karl Lagerfeld line. I've noticed H&M sizes tend to run on the smaller side, booo! =/

Katie invited me to a fundraiser bowling event for Junior Achievement. It was fun bowling even though my first game was horrible. It was cool how the entire team bowled well the last few moments of the second game, tons of strikes and spares. Afterwards, we all grabbed dinner at Gordos and went to a birthday get together somewhere in the Richmond in SF. Mmm, I never realized what a nice area the northern part of the Richmond district is. Lots of mansions with huge windows and pretty architecture. The hostess made really yummy spam musubi; I really need to learn how to make that. Heehee, my first time eating spam, too.

I've been listening to a lot of jazz lately, most of it on Jazz 91 or 91.1. I really like jazz songs that have vocals. Let me know if you have any suggestions on which singers are good. So far I like Diana Krall; she's famous because her album When I Look Into Your Eyes was the first jazz album to be nominated for Best Album of the Year for the Grammys.
