| DAY 3: MAY 31, 2002 - AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND |
|
Geographic landmarks: Amstel River
Tourist traps we conquered:
- Grasshopper Coffee Shop
- Red Light District
If you want coffee, don't go to a coffee shop, go to a cafe. People
in Amsterdam dip french fries in mayonaise. Ew! Don't eat the pizza
there, disgusting.

| DAY 4: JUNE 1, 2002 - AMSTERDAM & EDAM, HOLLAND |
|
Destination: Edam, Holland
Activities:
- Tour of a clog and cheese factory: We had the change to sample
all sorts of cheeses and I think I like smoked cheese the best.
- A bike ride around the country side: I skipped it because I
don't remember how to ride a bike anymore. =/ I heard it was lots
of fun though and the group saw lots of windmills.
Destination: Amsterdam, Holland
Tourist traps we conquered:
- Casa Rosa: ew, a live sex show, the performers looked bored.
- Centraal Station
- Costers: they locked us up in a room to exam diamonds. One of
the presenters placed a $55,000 diamond on my hand. It was so
pretty, heehee, I wanted to keep it.
- Heineken Reception Center: The tour was silly but cheap; you
got 3 drinks plus a Heineken glass for 5 euros.
- Red Light District: At night, I got paranoid because there were
all these weirdos running amock.
- Van Gogh Museum: There was a special joint exhibit with paintings
by Gaughin. Japanese block prints influenced impressionism with
its bold colors.
