Geographic landmarks: Rhine River
Tourist traps we conquered:
- St. Goar: I love how quaint and cottagey all the houses are
and the narrow alley ways, perfect for exploring. St. Goar has
the largest beer stein and hanging cuckoo clock.
- Lorelei rock
Activities:
- A river cruise along the Rhine Valley, where castles and vineyards
dotted the hills. I saw a small castle that reminded me of the
Shrek Castle.
Newsflash: not all the hotels have elevators. Dragging my suitcase
up a rocky hill was an interesting experience. Oh wells, at least
I'm working out my arms.
I saw lots of motorcycles, BMWs, and Benzes, not surprisingly
since we're in Germany and near the autobahn (a freeway with no
speed limit). After being in Amsterdam, I liked how St. Goar was
more quiet. I was able to explore on my own without feeling paranoid.
There were lots of shops selling handmade teddy bears; ironically,
they were expensive and not very cute looking. Germans eat a lot
of meat, especially sausage.
