Amelie (viewing #2):
-Basically my favorite movie so far in life, since I haven’t seen anything I liked more.
-Little Amelie is adorable, especially when she pulls her neighbor’s cable.
-The above screenshot is creeepy. I mean, wouldn’t you like to be seduced by a man in a skeleton costume?
-Amelie + Nino=<3<3 As my resident said so accurately, "Makes me want to fall in love."
-Imagine the scene where Amelie’s heart lights up and starts to beat faster when she sees Nino. Then, cut to her melting into a puddle of water when he leaves the cafe. That is how I feel after watching this movie…again. Cue the *sigh*.

Netflix

Movies — lillianc on October 24, 2007 at 7:28 pm

I have spent 2 months worth of money on Netflix subscriptions and have not ordered a single movie. I’m still holding onto the movie I ordered during my trial subscription. Lillian=sucker.

Cancel? I think so.

Update @ 11pm: Aaaand, as I am about to cancel…

“The Netflix web site is temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.
It is anticipated that the site will be available again at 2:30 AM Pacific time.”

Perfect timing for them to renew my subscription for yet another month. >:(!!!

Nasties

So, I decided to eat some of the crap that’s been sitting in my fridge for some time now.

1) Orange juice: I forget when I got this to-go cup of OJ from the dining commons. Obviously, long enough that it was just on the cusp of the fermenting process. I drank most of it. I’ve done it in the past. It tastes like “sparkling” orange juice. About 3/4 of the way through the cup, I thought that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea, so I tossed the rest. While waiting to see how my stomach settled, I read this article on old OJ.
2) I got 2 blocks of “American” cheese singles from our camping trip in August. They are still in my fridge and they look the same as I day I got them. I’m pretty sure regular cheese would have molded by now. Cheese singles are so disturbing. I will likely toss them, since I don’t like the thought of putting them into my body…and there are probably over 80 singles left in the bag. Yuck.
3) The cob of corn I got for my program on 9/26 is pretty dried up. I should toss that.
4) The canned pumpkin I got for that same program is so moldy. So tossed.
5) About a week ago I found out that the rest of the camping trip food (i.e. cream cheese) went pretty bad. What a waste.
6) I should probably toss the 2 cups of yogurt that expired over a month ago.
7) My dinner consisted of pita bread that was on the cusp of molding, turkey slices ready to turn colors and some of those disturbing cheese singles. *wills stomach to be strong*

Oh, and I finally saw that All Bran commercial someone told me about. LOL. Go regularity go!

Step away from the fries.

This is the first year since high school…maybe middle school, that I have consciously been eating very poorly. Take this morning’s breakfast as an example of how low I have gotten. It consisted of a can of Coca Cola and a packet of Keebler’s (partially hydrogenated!) peanut butter cracker sandwiches (all found at work). My only real justification is I wanted the caffeine and I felt like peanut butter. All the while, my cup of yogurt and bottle of Odwalla juice (which really isn’t all that great) sat next to the Coke can…guilt tripping me.

Yesterday was…even better. I did not eat anything until 4pm. I gave in a got fries…with a chicken sandwich. I refrained from getting the chili cheese fries at the last possible moment (it was a close call). For dinner I had cold pizza/cheesy sticks and a frozen (yes, frozen) apple.

I can just feel my insides curling into an unhappy mass. I’m so sorry stomach, heart, liver, kidneys, etc. etc. My mind is weak. :|

Whaaat?

I can’t believe we lost the Homecoming game. I thought Homecoming was usually a for-sure win. I am not even that school spirited, yet I still find this disappointing. We were 5-0 strong and the Oregon State Beavers (Beavers?) were 2-3. Whaaaat? -_-

Picture this.

I still want a camera. I’m sad because my theme house is not accumulating very many pictures this year. Our first field trip is this coming Sunday and I want to make sure there are pictures.

I am still hesitating on buying a camera off Facebook that I’ve been watching for over a month now. It’s point and shoot, so it really shouldn’t matter…but, I really wanted image stabilization and a good macro mode (which one review was not so happy about). :| It’s the Fujifilm FinePix S5100. 10x optical zoom seems nice though. Facebook lady is selling it for $150. Hmm.

But, seriously, picture this…the DC had a fairly tasty yellow beet salad tonight (though one of the herbs in it was waaay too strong). Top that off with a slice of…PIE (!) and you have a fairly contented Lillian. *pats tummy*

Cut it out.

Guess where I got a papercut?

Okay, maybe you don’t want to know.

Okay, you do. On my tongue! :P

Also, a light in the lecture hall popped this morning and shards of glass fell on a few seats. It’s a good thing folks weren’t sitting in those seats…

Greek Concerts

Music — lillianc on October 7, 2007 at 1:40 am

I live next to the Greek Theater. I listen to concerts. I likey.

The Shins came last night and they sounded pretty good (recording quality hardcoreness). Bryan Adams came tonight. He sounded pretty good too. Yeah, that’s right, I listen to Bryan Adams (i.e. Summer of ‘69, Heaven, Please Forgive Me, I Do It for You). It still gives me the tingles hearing that “All for Love” song from The Three Musketeers movie. I was such a gosh darn sappy child. Freak yeah.

It’s too bad Tegan and Sara are coming to Zellerbach and not the Greek. I’m still not going to pay. Greek Theater concert season is over. Now it’s back to free Friday noon concerts on Sproul Plaza…

Or, chorale group performances throughout the week. So much talent. It. Hurts.

Wrong number.

Miscellaneous — lillianc on October 6, 2007 at 1:02 am

Shoot, my phone number has been mis-interpreted 2x this week. Once for Extreme Pizza and once for Bearwalk. Both times resulting in much waiting. At least for the pizza case, the order person copied it down incorrectly. I checked. Yeah, it bugs me. That’s just who I am.

It just bugs me even more that I can’t check to see if I gave the Bearwalk guy the right number. Grrr.

Anyways, good night. I still have not caught up with sleep since Monday, September 24th. Zzzzz.
