Shopaholic

Miscellaneous — lillianc on April 8, 2008 at 11:54 pm

Every so often I get into the shopping mood=my current status.

I have a fashion icon who walks around campus and doesn’t know me. She’s been my icon for oooh 2…3 years now. I know, I’m creepy, but oh boy oh boy would I enjoy getting her hand me downs. Um um, excuse me, dear. Will you be my personal shopper?…for free?

I already spent (too much) time over the weekend ogling (clothed) photos of the beautiful (burlesque artist) Dita Von Teese.

Oh, it’s late…

She is the one…Sailor Moon!

I used to wake up at 5am to watch this back in 4th grade…

I also used to think Tuxedo Mask was quite the hottie.

That’s right, I’m getting myself psyched to stay up late again. Workworkwork. Rawr.

Motivate Me!

Miscellaneous — lillianc on March 17, 2008 at 12:37 am

It’s 1:33am & I am so motivated.

Was it the caffeine? Was it the lack of sleep? Is it thinking happy thoughts? Adrenaline rush?

I dunno, but I like this feeling. Why can’t I have it more often?

In my perfect world, I could bottle it up and sprinkle it/swallow it/wear it/lick it/squeeze it/hug it eeeeeevery morning.

Helloooo motivation. :D

lol

LOL. Classic clip.

Why, hello there Mr. Ernő Rubik.

Miscellaneous — lillianc on February 12, 2008 at 11:04 pm

I bought a Rubik’s Cube today.

Yes, I have wanted one since…some many years ago.

Erik (aka Mr. Rubik’s Cube DeCal instructor) started teaching me how to solve it at work last week.

I can’t keep my hands off of it. *touch touch* :D

Ahahaha

If I weren’t sick and working right now, I’d jump for joy and yelp just a little.

1) I am going to China this summer!
2) I have no finals! I am done after May 12th!!

Hip hip hooorah!

Career Fairs

Miscellaneous — lillianc on February 1, 2008 at 1:01 am

I spent 2 days attending the cattle auction of college students known as the career fair.

I have a few prospects I will be applying to over the next week. *fingers crossed*

Looking at numerous job descriptions, I think I’ve figured out what I would really like in a job. I would love to work in marketing/web outreach for an environmental organization/firm (i.e. this opening for sfenvironment.org). Now all I’m missing are design skills and just about anything you might need for one of those jobs…with the exception of a passion to learn and be a better designer.

I would also love to teach sex ed…minus that whole public speaking part. I could talk about sex all day long.

Haha.

I am looking forward to seeing all these policies/theories from my ES classes take form into actual projects though. CEQA/NEPA…I’m ready for you!

Don’t Talk to Strangers

Jackie and I were about to catch up on what’s been going on in our lives on the steps of I-House when this guy comes up and says “Hey, I’m waiting too. Mind if I join you? I have snacks if you want some.”

As I walked back home, I couldn’t help wonder if I felt like ignoring him because he came off as creepy or because I am a bitch. To justify my behavior, I tried to imagine if he had been dashingly handsome (not to say he wasn’t) or harmless looking. I think I would have treated him the same way. I like to think the best of people, but I am also very paranoid. I actually looked back a few times after walking away to make sure he wasn’t following me. Is this because I’m a woman conditioned to see myself as a victim or is it just the extra dose of paranoia my mom so lovingly instilled in me?

Jenn once told me of a woman she encountered at a bus stop who she believes was in a cult. Jackie once mentioned a directionally challenged man who feared his sister was in a car accident and asked for help locating her. My mom always says “I don’t know” when asked for directions because anyone could be a predator out to rob/rape you.

Well, I would not have picked up on the cult. I might have referred the man into a store. And, I always give (unintentionally lousy) directions.

My kind of fun.
