3/20/03 Updated a few things, mostly broken links and a little on the layout. Hopefully I'll find time to flesh out the content of this page soon. So much i've learned between last year and now. 6/17/02

Still so much to work on. A few glitchs I'm still working on but mostly just material that needs to be recomplied, written up or formatted. I'm wondering if I should put it up while I'm still working on the content. I'd really rather have all of it up done though since it's much easier to work on this locally. Which means I could host off of my machine but then I'd have to figure out how to do it through a different port since Att doesn't let you work off the normal one. Argh. Hope this site will be useful to someone when I'm done. ; )

Gah! One would never think until they've worked on one just how much time a webpage really does take to set up. Sure you can use a template...but when one wants to be original html is about as messy as it gets. Not to mention all the places where things can go wrong. *shudders* Well, hopefully once the main page is done it'll become much easier.

After much work and deliberation it looks like we are back up and running! For those that are new to the site, a little bit of background:

Born from a text helpfile that was original written to remind myself of commands, this webpage started when I was first taking cs classes. While I was learning Unix it seemed that most of the time I would forget a command as soon as I learned it. Either that or I would forget what arguments it took or when to use what... This led me to write all the commands I learned in a short little text file to myself. As I picked up more people started asking about commands. I posted this helpfile so that everyone could view it. It quickly became apparent though, that despite the relative brevity of the page that scrolling through it was a daunting and confusing task. Thus the unix tutorial project was born.
