My Message

Many people think that we have no choice but to have a lot of children and to live being troubled by your children. I am upset to hear talks like that. Therefore, I want to depict children in their most innocent ways in my works, such as My Neighbor Totoro. On the other hand, I want to address the social problems in children’s behaviors nowadays. Furthermore, many audiences can clearly see my message about our relation to nature from my films. I agree that we cannot coexist with nature simply because we live humbly, and we destroy it because we are greedy. We cannot solve the ultimate problems, but we should have courage to do what we can do within our abilities to save our environment from being destructed and polluted. Therefore, if we take a small step each at a time, the problems will eventually be resolved by those who are courageous and sincere.
