Private Client

This comic-book application allows users to browse new items and update their wishlist. Users can also filter their searches for specific comics books via genre, publisher, and age. Note: this is not a comic-book reader.

HyperSource

HyperSource is an IDE augmentation that associates browsing histories with source code edits. Programmers frequently use the Web while writing code and by connecting source code and (selective) browsing history, programmers can maintain context, and enhance understanding when code is shared. This was led by Prof. Bjoern Hartmann.

SPRING

Short for "Speech Pronunciation Improvement via Games," SPRING merges games with a speech recognizer to help English Language Learners (ELL) learn proper English pronunciation. This project was led by Anuj Tewari and Prof. John Canny and was presented at ICTD 2010 in London, England.

Moggo

Moggo — Mobile Gifts on the Go — is the gift card without the card. Gift cards are ranked as the #1 gift for women (and #3 for men) but the plastic cards are a hassle: they are lost, misplaced, and the values are unknown. This project emphasized User Interface design in which Moggo started as drawings and evolved via low- and high-fidelity prototypes, usability testing, interviews, and heuristics. This project was demoed at Apple in Cupertino 2009.

About

I am pursuing graduate studies in Informatics at the University of California, Irvine and I am a member of LUCI. I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley studying Computer Science, with a particular interest in Human-Computer Interaction, User Interface/Experience Design, and the Mobile Design. I was a member of The Berkeley Institute of Design working with John Canny and Bjoern Hartmann.

I am a User Interface and Experience consultant at Sherlock Design in my spare time. I am also an active member of the UCI Fencing Organization (weapon of choice: the foil). I enjoy reading about design, admiring beautiful architecture and objects, and thinking about the future and how to tap into the endless potential of human creativity. I pay attention to the smallest details to create a rich and fun experience for everyone.

Interests

I love Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience and Interaction, and the mobile scene. Mobile devices and intuitive User Interfaces are definitely the way to go! I am a huge fan of emotional design, crowdsourcing, ubiquitous computing, calming technologies, gamification, and gesture/multi-touch interactions. It's the Human Element, the Human Spirit, and the Human Energy that drives technology now.
