Suisun Marsh, Erik_____Suisun Marsh and the adjacent section of
Suisun Bay, is an eclectic area of nature, industry and a site where
the Navy moors roughly 100 ships as part of its mysterious reserve
fleet. Duck hunters and environmentalists try and save the marsh and
Navy veterans try and save historic ships from a slow rotting death as
giant 400 pound, world-record-breaking sturgeon slowly navigate the
brackish waters.
Angel Island, Tim_____Between 1910 and 1940, the Angel Island Immigration Station served to uphold the Chinese Immigration Act of 1882, filtering out the Chinese who were attempting to enter the country with forged documents.  The detainees were subjected to rigorous interrogations, and were kept in cramped housing for periods of time without knowledge of how long they would be kept, and without knowledge of whether they would be sent home or allowed in.  There fear, anger, and anxiety were transposed in poetry on the walls of the dorms, and for this reason, the Station has been designated as a National Historic site.
West Oakland , Min _____Situated immediately off the East side of the Bay Bridge is the transportation hub of West Oakland. Throughout the years it served many purposes such as tranporting goods, storing naval supply, and other industrial needs. It remains a heavily industrial area but has changed along with the different forms of transportation that dominate that edge of the bay.

Dumbarton Point, Mara _____The stretch of land between the Dumbarton Bridge and the Dumbarton Cut-off Railroad Bridge in Newark, CA is marked with the layers of its varied history: salt marsh and tidal flat, seven past and present forms of transportation, aqueduct, salt production and subsequent attempts at ecological restoration.

Port Chicago, LaToya _____Photographing Port Chicago, a decommissioned naval station where there stands a National Memorial to honor those killed in the largest homeland disaster of World War II, where a mostly African-American crew was instantly killed when a loaded munition ship blew up during loading operations. This incident helped persuade the U.S. military to begin the long journey towards racial justice and equality following WWII.

Point San Pedro, Andrew _____ San Rafael Rock Quarry, Point San Pedro: historic source of raw material for bay area infrastructural needs, today a source of conflict with adjacent neighbors and future desires.

Pier 39 , Erica_____There have been several piers where San Francisco's Pier 39 stands today (2004), each with a different history, each with a different purpose. This exhibit details the history of all three of those piers, focusing on the commercial aspects of each of them, giving increased emphasis to the contemporary pier.

Hunter's Point , Kimberly _____    Hunters Point, since people became aware of it in 1869, has continuously gone through a cycle of change. The first permanent dry dock every built on the Pacific Coast was in Hunters Point in 1869, which the Bethlehem Steel Company commissioned. Many were overly excited with high expectations of the newly built dry dock, thinking prosperity and industrial growth would help strengthen the community of Hunters Point. Yet, today Hunters Point is anything but a prosperous area along the bay.
