Berkeley Nanotechnology Club Presents: Entrepreneurship in Nanotechnology

Join us on Thursday, February 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in C110 Haas School of Business for an exciting discussion of entrepreneurship in nanotechnology. The evening includes a presentation about strategies for dealing with and getting good investors for start-ups by John Gale, president of Taligo, LLC, and a panel from Haas which will answer questions about start-ups at Berkeley. John Gale's experience includes sourcing and evaluating corporate development deals for NEC Semiconductor, consultant to Photonic Power Systems, and numerous leadership positions in companies and within Silicon Valley organizations. Also, the winners of the Berkeley Nano Opportunity Challenge will give their pitch, followed by Q&A and panel commentary. This is a great way to meet other science and business students who are interested in nanotechnology at Berkeley and learn lots about the start-up environment for nanotech!

Graduating soon and looking for a job?
Interested in entrepreneurship?
Just curious about the business of nanotechnology?

Please join us for a Business and Nanotech Mini-Symposium, featuring Professor Drew Isaacs (of the Haas School of Business), Adam Mendelsohn (student and entrepreneur behind Nano Precision Medical, which won the Berkeley Business Plan competition, and several others) and several representatives from local nanotechnology-related companies. Our panelists will discuss the state of nanotechnology in the business world, give an overview of student entrepreneurship in nanotechnology, and discuss opportunities in industry. After the talks, there will be networking and discussion time over pizza.

When: Tuesday, 12/2, from 6-8 p.m.
Where: 234 Dwinelle Hall, UC Berkeley Campus

Please feel free to email kayte@berkeley.edu with any questions.

Catch the nano wave !!

As we enter our new academic year, we can see nanotechnolgy already being incorporated into many commercial products. Though the first generation nano products are simple, a significant progress is being made towards building more complex systems using nanotechnology. Come and discover how to be part of the next big wave.
