Berkeley Nano Opportunity Challenge 2006 brings together scientists, engineers, and business students to evaluate potential applications and commercial opportunities for ideas and innovations in Nanotechnology and related areas.

Last years winner of the competition went on to start a company called Harmonic Devices Inc. www.harmonicdevices.com . Encouraged by the success of BNOC 2005, BNC has decided to make this into an annual event on Berkeley campus, with plans to proactively solicit proposals from all across Bay Area.

Details of the event

The competition will be held in two rounds:

Phase I (Nov 16, 2006): Ten short listed teams of scientists and engineers will present their innovations to a panel of judges comprising of distinguished technologists from industry and academia. Cash prize of $500 will be awarded to each of the five winners
