my friend got theirs taken here. Ya seriously, the place is called ‘seattle wedding photography…’ That street which is across the street from 國家音樂廳 has a whole bunch of them. But I think you have to reserve a few weeks ahead of time, which is why I’m looking now.
There are so many different places I’ve been taking a long time looking at all their photos online. Right now I like CH Wedding, but it also seems like it might be one of the more expensive places. If you look under the “名人專區” section you can see that Melody (aka David Tao’s ex) had her engagement/wedding pictures taken there…Along with other rich/famous people…
Sophia Weddings got good reviews on this wedding forum I was looking at, even though their website looks kinda unspectacular.
Some other ones I’m looking at v-wedding, butterfly-green…, srmt… and a lot more. I think all the pictures started looking about the same to me. In fact they probably are about the same.
looking at wedding/engagement pictures places in Taiwan…

i think on the whole this photoshoot turned out pretty nice despite the dorky suspenders (and suit) and questionable qipao (mainly i don’t like the color)

actually qipao would be so nice…although you have to find the right background and it’s kind of kitschy with this kind of background… but i still really like that set, if you just ignore the billboard-flashy clothing i can imagine that turning out very pretty like if the guy wears a crisp tailored white shirt and the girl a solid color tailored dress

i think there’s a tendency for wedding photography to be over the top — like crazy and frilly and really exaggerated… a lot of times they’re dramatic but not emotional, vs. something more ordinary but very emotional
i think it’s because it’s 342523 times harder to capture emotion than to make a fun composition, something like that, because the photographer would really need to bond with the subject or take lots of photos to capture some fleeting moment

actually i think most of them are nice and i’m sure yours will turn out nicer than any sample ones they have

for the qipao set I actually really liked the pictures with the white dress + the paper 囍 on her head. I really like the dress and the paper 囍 is really cool. I think another reason is that I didn’t like the qipao. My friends got qipao + cheongsam (male) pictures and it looked *really* nice, really classy, I think it’s because the clothing was understated and the styling was nice.
Ya I really like the station picture too. The wings are not *that* bad, in the grand scale of wings, I’ve seen worse (and I think i’ve seen them on guys too…). For some reason afro wigs (for guys) and cap style veils are popular in wedding photos in Taiwan (the two trends not usually in the same picture). I don’t really get the cap veil, it’s so ugly. I think Americans would find the fake afros politically incorrect but I don’t think people from any other country would as much.
Anyway there’s this forum which people upload their pictures and you can save pictures you like in an album too under your login on the forum. I got some really nice pictures. But then when I looked at it I think mostly the reasons I like them are because of the compositions, color, lighting (slightly secondary are styling and poses.) You know, general qualities which make pictures good. Therefore I think it might not matter so much the location as whether the photographer is good or not…
Wouldn’t the sample pictures tend to be nicer than normal sets since they probably pick the nice ones to put up?

I thought i’d avoid shinto shrines just on principle but in most of these these pictures you can’t even tell that it’s a shinto shrine. I don’t think the pictures are that great thought and I don’t like the weird dress. beach pictures are fairly normal for beach pictures.

oh i didn’t even see the white dress and paper xi ones…they ARE very nice.
fake afros?!?!!!!!
as for cap veils, i think they’re lame in general except the vintage one you linked to — which is really pretty/classy! i think that would be lovely with a very understated slinky dress. Actually i’m pretty sure i saw a photo of that in lucky one time when they had a bridal feature. but yeah all other pictures that turned up on google image are ugly i agree…
well in my opinion what they think are nice might not be same as the one i think are nice, e.g. i tend to dislike ones they put at the front/on the main page. i think people prefer ones that look different/cool/design-y, where they look like they’re on a model shoot (the girl anyway, the guy usually looks like this-_-). instead i think it’s nice to capture some sense of what they have between them which would make a beautiful picture even with the most ordinary background as long as you have nice camera and lighting
(probably this is all easier said than done, because how relaxed can people look while being photographed by a stranger…)
yeah those pictures aren’t that great but i was thinking more of the place which i think was underutilized. second the weirdness of the dress
