This is a web site created in conjunction with the course project for History of Art 135B, Japanese Paintings (1600-1900) taught by Professor Greg Levine at the University of California, Berkeley in Spring 1998.  This site is designed to give you a relaxingly intensive exploration of Japanese prints, ukiyo-e prints, in particular.  You will  find various examples of prints of ukiyo-e artists, Hiroshige, Hokusai, Utamaro, Harunobu, and Sharaku.   Enjoy & delve right in!!
