Why did you decide to join PAHC?
I joined PAHC because I heard about it at Senior Weekend and thought that it would fit me. But once I got to Berkeley, a friend advised me that PAHC is a really good organization to join, especially since he was in it too. I went to the annual retreat, knowing only Edward and Cherryl, but I didn’t feel uncomfortable being there because everyone made me feel welcome. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to be in PAHC. Not only did I feel like I fit in but I also witnessed all the resources that PAHC provides for those who are a part of PAHC.

As a core member, what skills or knowledge can you contribute to PAHC’s Internship Program ?

Having being chosen as a core member for the 2009-2010 school year, I want to help PAHC continue to grow. I see PAHC, as not only an organization that helps you develop professionally and helps you through your classes, but as my family away from my family. I feel that I can come to any member of PAHC and talk to them. I could vent to them about my classes, being stressed, or personal topics because they not only know what I’m going through in school but, as my peers, they know what I’m going through as an young adult. I want to help guide our interns so that they understand what PAHC is all about, at least through my eyes. I want to make myself accessible to our interns and all those who are interested in a health-related career. I want to continue the mindset from past years as PAHC being a helping hand to all those in our community.

As Herstorian, I want to continue the development of this recently created position with the help of the interns. I want to continue to learn about PAHC alongside the interns, studying our history and using the history to act as guides for the organization in the future. The saying, “You don’t know where you are going until you know where you have been” applies to not only individuals but to bodies of people who work as a cohesive whole. I plan to expose my interns to the different components so that they attain an understanding of PAHC as one entity.

What do you like to do on your free time?
On my free time, I want to say that I like to stay active–doing activities like playing volleyball, basketball, swimming, and working-out. However, more often than not I do get lazy and not do these things in my free time. Usually, I like to eat, sleep, and hang out with friends. I really enjoy watching non-scary movies (chick flicks, comedies, and dramas), catching up on my TV shows online, and (sometimes) new things.
