We’ll even help you work on your four/five-year plan and discuss which classes to take, when to take them, who to take them with, and how and when to do internships and research.

Transition Notes for Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)
The meetings for this committee are pretty awesome because you get dinner at each meeting  and they are pretty chill, but yeah, they want to have this committee be as representative of the community as they try to get at least one member from all the different communities on campus (the different minorities, the LGBT, graduates, undergrads, Mills students, Greek, and more). So usually at the meetings we have a representative from UHS and we discuss issues that have come up within Tang center and we can share what we think and how we feel things can change both from our own views or what we think would be good for the community in general. They also try to get any feedback about the Tang center in general to be shared with them so that they can make the experience of Tang better and to dispel any rumors or horror stories that may be floating around about Tang in general. It is a great committee and consists of a very diverse group of individuals.

From the website: The Student Health Advisory Committee is an advisory board to University Health Services-Tang Center and campus administration that represents the entire student population at the University of California, Berkeley.

• Create an organized dialogue between students and administration about student health and counseling needs, and UHS programs and services.
• Provide program and service advice/consultation.
• Advise UHS regarding insurance and budget issues, and student impact.
• Identify educational/informational needs of students.
• Address barriers related to seeking care and provide user feedback around accessibility and ease of use.
• Assess emerging student issues and keep UHS connected to student life and campus.
• Give campus administrators planning advice given student needs and budget constraints.
• Assess perception of UHS services.
• Provide student input through additional channels such as hiring and other UHS committees.

History
“Since 1982, the dedicated members of the Filipino Association for Health Careers of the University of California, Davis, and Pilipino Association for Health Careers of the University of California, Berkeley have alternately hosted the health conference.

Through the health conference, both organizations strive to educate and promote awareness about the various health-related careers. The general format of the health conference is composed of workshops, speakers, and professional and graduate student panels. The carefully selected topics and issues covered at the conference are structured in a way that participants can benefit from the presentations and speakers.

With the wealth of information provided from the conference, we hope that every individual will obtain new insights and interests that can point them toward achieving their dreams.
