Career Points/Assists Leaders and UCLA Alums

During the 2020-2021 NBA season, Stephen Curry became the Warriors' career assists leader (surpassing Guy Rodgers) and the Warriors' career points leader (surpassing Wilt Chamberlain). Chamberlain played in 429 games with the Warriors; it took Curry 745 games to pass him on the scoring list. Chamberlain was the leader despite ranking 27th (!!) in career games with the Warriors. Unsurprisingly, this was the lowest ranking in games of any of the thirty NBA franchise points' leaders. In fact, only one current points' leaders doesn't rank in the top three in games with the franchise. That man is UCLA alum Russell Westbrook, who ranks 4th in career games with Thunder/Sonics. Unlike Curry, Westbrook is not also the all-time career assists leader for his franchise.

There is a UCLA alum who like Curry is a franchise career leader in assists and in points. That man is Indiana Pacers Hall-of-Famer Reggie Miller. Miller, despite averaging just 3.0 assists per game during his career,
leads the Pacers in career points and career assists. Nine other men lead an NBA franchise in points and in assists: Curry, Michael Jordan (Bulls), Jordan's nemesis Isiah Thomas (Pistons), Kevin Garnett (Timberwolves), Mike Conley (Grizzlies), Dwayne Wade (Heat) Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), Lebron James (Cavaliers), and Oscar Robertson (Royals/Kings). Three months before passing Chamberlain on the Warriors' scoring list, Curry passed Miller for second-place on the NBA career three-pointers list.
