Where I Have Lived
My parents were born and raised in Sri Lanka (a small island nation of approximately 20 million people - less than 1/60th the size of India), but I was born in
England. I moved to Northern California when I was one, moved to the Bay Area when I was two, and moved to Santa Clara County when I was six. I have now lived in the
Bay Area for over thirty-five years,
in Santa Clara County for over twenty-five years, and in San Jose for over thirteen years.
According to this website, approximately 9.67 million
people live in the Bay Area and approximately 2 million people live in Santa Clara County. So, less than 3% of current United States residents (over 300 million people) live in the Bay Area and
less than 1% of them live in Santa Clara County.
