Golden State Warriors Making Most of Their Playoff Opportunities

In 2022, the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Finals. It was their fourth NBA Championship in eight years. Overall, the Warriors have really taken advantage of their opportunities in the playoffs. Since moving to Oakland from San Francisco and becoming the "Golden State" Warriors in 1971, the Warriors have made the playoffs twenty times and won the NBA Finals five times (25%). In that time span, that's the second-highest such percentage in the entire NBA. The highest percentage belongs to the Lakers (twelve out of forty-one or 29.3%).

Other than the Lakers, the only other teams with more championships since 1971 than the Warriors are the Bulls and the Celtics (six each). While there are just three teams in the NBA with more championships than the Warriors since 1971, there are eighteen (!!) NBA teams with more playoff appearances (Lakers, Bulls, Celtics, Hawks, Mavericks, Nuggets, Pistons, Rockets, Heat, Bucks, Knicks, 76ers, Suns, Trailblazers, Spurs, Nets, Sonics/Thunder, and Bullets/Wizards).
