PAUL J. MYSLIN

Welcome internet traveler. I hope your visit to these pages is pleasant. Relax, stay awhile.

Berkeley, California, is home to the University of California at Berkeley. Steeped in history and fine academic tradition, the University has much to offer. See their website for yourself. Go Bears!

I moved here from Eureka, a small Victorian community far to the north. There, amidst the tall sequoias and the rocky coast, is a kind of chilly paradise. One of my favorite pasttimes has been hiking in the ancient redwood forests, especially when it's foggy. And for those of you prone to dismiss that fair city as a forgotten backwater, please note the high level of intelligence there. Even the chimpanzee in our zoo has his own web page. Visit Bill.

I'm also a coin collector. Since about the fifth grade, I've been interested in the history, art, and just plain fun of collecting old money. I know it seems boring to most people, but then perhaps they haven't experienced the thrill of finding an old coin somewhere and wondering just how many hands it passed through....especially if it's a coin from ancient times. It's fun to research the life of a Roman emperor who's been dead for a couple thousand years, but whose picture I hold in my hand. I have a few scans of pieces from my collection, but I haven't updated them for a really long time. Ancients. In May 1995, it occurred to me that I didn't have any coins among the icons on my computer desktop. This inspired me to create the COIN ICONS, which I posted on several internet sites. Version 2 was so successful it was even featured on an AMUG CD Rom in 1996.

The poet in me was active in junior high school: THE ROAD TO OMSK...official version.
