Our History

The Pre-Pharmacy Informational Learning and Leadership Society was founded in Fall of 2000 by Co-Presidents Alex Ding and Shelly Dhir. Their board consisted of Vice President, Jennifer Chen; Secretary, Grace Lin; and Treasurer, Vanessa Tam. At the time, pre-pharmacy resources and support were non-existent. Fueled by the lack of information, PILLS was established to provide a forum for pre-pharmacy students to explore their interests and to obtain reliable and insightful information regarding the field of pharmacy. PILLS would provide application help, opportunities to network with pharmacists, and opportunities for its members to hone their leadership skills. The founders envisioned the club to grow into a professional and reliable resource for all pre-pharmacy students at UC Berkeley and establish and maintain ties with its neighboring pharmacy communities.
