Google Event Calender (under Event Tab) For information about upcoming events, you are able to view the whole monthly events under Google Event Calender now! Message: 4/13/09~ Last general meeting for Spring 2009 4/15/09 7Pm @ Wurster. PDS officer will present you the dental school application process, as well as other elpful tips on your resume. Poker Night This Thursday 4/16/09 8PM-11PM @ 100 Wheeler. The game is no-limit Texas Hold'em. We will provide lessons to those new to the game, and more experienced players can test themselves in our tournament. The cost is $10, which includes admission and your seat at a table. Seating is limited, so come early! And please invite your friends and anyone you think who would enjoy a casual hand of poker. Proceeds will benefit the Dental Education Outreach Program.Please note that there is no money or gambling of any kind. The chips used in poker have no value as currency. If you are interested in attending the UCSF Impressions conference this year on February 28th, please fill out the application and submit it by February 13th. Please note: you must mail in the applications on your own! Give kids a Smile Day 2/7/09 UCSF Give Kids a Smile Day Shift 1: 8:30am-12:30pm Shft 2: 12:00pm-4:00pm. This is a great community service opportunity to help out with the activities at this event where dental students provide free cleaning to low-income children. We will be having a guest speaker, Dr. Matsuishi, a pediatric dentist. Ever wondered about being a pediatric dentist? Love working with kids? Dr. Matsuishi will tell us about being a dentist in pediatric as well as the path to become a pediatric dentist. He will also talk about an opening position in his clinic for the upcoming year! We will be having a workshop on AADSAS Application: Path to Dental School presented by Jennifer Kim, the current PDS President. Thank you for your patience. 2/09/08 Saturday UCSF Give Kids a Smile Day UCSF School of Dentistry is having a GKAS day. Give Kids a Smile Day (GKAS) is a national event where dental students will screen kids and provide over +100 sealants. This is a big event and normally 1st year dental students volunteer to help assist. However, this year the members of the event committee is seeking predental volunteers to help assist chairside, registration, and keeping the kids company and so on. Mar 12, 2007 We have an upcoming DEOP event coming up on March 22nd that could use some participants. It will be held on Thursday, March 22nd from 9:00a, to 10:30am. Feb 27, 2007 We have found out that the Berkeley Project event is an all day event starting from 8am and ending in the afternoon (at around 2 to 4pm)--lunch will be provided. Because it is an all day event, we are offering credit for two events. In addition, we are also holding an Ice Skating Social at the Berkeley Iceland on March 08 from 8-9pm. The Berkeley Iceland is within walking distance on campus. If you are interested in any of these two events, please see the Events page for more information. Feb 26, 2007 Event News -- We are cancelling Berkeley Project event on March 10 due to no more openings for volunteers. Oct 4, 2006 The UCSF Conference scheduled for Oct 14 has been cancelled. Anyone who paid fees for this conference should contact Beverly Hong (beverly.hong at gmail.com) as soon as possible to obtain their refund. Sept 30, 2006 DEOP Presentations are starting soon. DEOP is a fun way to serve the local community by promoting proper dental/oral hygiene among children. Following is the current list of DEOP presentations scheduled in October.

Sept 27, 2006 Our next general meeting (the 3rd) will be on Wednesday, Oct 04, 2006 in 122 Barrows from 7:30-8:30pm. We will be presenting DEOP program as well as discuss information about California Dental Schools and the DAT. Also, the 3rd general meeting is the last general meeting where membership fee is $10. We will also put up a page with information about California and East Coast dental schools Sept 14, 2006 UCSF Dental Career Conference is taking place October 14, 2006 from 9am to 3pm. This conference is a tour of the dental school, an introduction to their DDS program, and application and financial aid advising advice. There is a $20 fee set by the school to attend. As of now, transportation is still being determined. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by sending an email to Beverly Hong (beverly.hong@gmail.com). Please provide your name, email, phone number, and specify whether you can drive or have your own transportation. If you can drive, please tell us how many people you can also take in your car. You will also need to pay a $20 fee mentioned earlier by our 2nd general meeting on September 20.
