First General Meeting Our first general meeting is going to be on Wednesday, September 10th from 7:30 - 8:30 in 220 Wheeler. Fall 2008: Oral and Dental Health Decal Please e-mail Sheena (sheenav.at.berkeley.edu) if you are interested in taking our Decal this upcoming semester. We will pass out CCN's after the school year starts. Please note: A New Format for General Meetings Please note that because we will be inviting a variety of guest speakers to present at the Decal, the same speakers will not present at the General Pre-Dental Meetings. If you are interested in learning about a specific topic, you are more than welcome to attend the appropriate Decal meeting if the space is available. By shifting the focus of the General Meetings, we hope to offer additional opportunities to learn more about your fellow members' experiences and hold more helpful Workshops for pre-dental students! We will be having a guest speaker, Dr. Matsuishi, a pediatric dentist. Ever wondered about being a pediatric dentist? Love working with kids? Dr. Matsuishi will tell us about being a dentist in pediatric as well as the path to become a pediatric dentist. He will also talk about an opening position in his clinic for the upcoming year! This is our last General Meeting for the year. Look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday! 4/16/08 Wednesday 7-8PM @ 110 Wheeler: 6th General Meeting. We will be having a workshop on AADSAS Application: Path to Dental School presented by Jennifer Kim, the current PDS President. Come with questions regarding personal statement, interview preparations, AADSAS applications, general questions regarding some of the *popular* dental schools, etc. If you plan on applying to Dental Schools this summer, this workshop will give you a general overview of the application process, interview process, and getting to the final step! Free Pizza + Soda~* We will be having the Assistant Director of the Admission for UoP. She will give a presentation of the school, prereqs, answer any questions you may have about UoP. Come out and learn more about UoP School of Dentistry! 2/27/08 Wednesday 7-8PM @ 110 Wheeler: 3rd General Mtg featuring Dr. Sam Thatcher Dr. Thatcher is our very own Cal alumnus. As a general dentist, Dr. Thatcher will share personal experiences from Berkeley undergraduate to dental school to owning a private clinic. Thank you for your patience. 2/09/08 Saturday UCSF Give Kids a Smile Day UCSF School of Dentistry is having a GKAS day. Give Kids a Smile Day (GKAS) is a national event where dental students will screen kids and provide over +100 sealants. This is a big event and normally 1st year dental students volunteer to help assist. However, this year the members of the event committee is seeking predental volunteers to help assist chairside, registration, and keeping the kids company and so on. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jennifer Kim(mkjenniferkim@berkeley.edu) with: -your name -e-mail address -phone number -whether you'd like to participate for the morning or afternoon shift *Please note that this will count as a *COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENT* for the Spring'08. 2/23/08 Saturday UCSF Conference for PreDental Students UCSF Student Chapter is holding a conference for PreDents! Mar 19, 2007 There will be an Eggster orientation session after our next general meeting this Wednesday (Mar 21) from 8:00 to 8:30pm. Mar 12, 2007 We have an upcoming DEOP event coming up on March 22nd that could use some participants. It will be held on Thursday, March 22nd from 9:00a, to 10:30am. Feb 27, 2007 We have found out that the Berkeley Project event is an all day event starting from 8am and ending in the afternoon (at around 2 to 4pm)--lunch will be provided. Because it is an all day event, we are offering credit for two events. In addition, we are also holding an Ice Skating Social at the Berkeley Iceland on March 08 from 8-9pm. The Berkeley Iceland is within walking distance on campus. If you are interested in any of these two events, please see the Events page for more information. Feb 26, 2007 Event News -- We are cancelling Berkeley Project event on March 10 due to no more openings for volunteers. To make up for that event, there will be a DEOP event on March 7th from 9:30-11:00am. Please see the Events page for more information. This social is a chance for you to meet other students who are pre-pharmacy or pre-optometry. For more information, see the description in on the events section. Oct 4, 2006 The UCSF Conference scheduled for Oct 14 has been cancelled. Anyone who paid fees for this conference should contact Beverly Hong (beverly.hong at gmail.com) as soon as possible to obtain their refund. Sept 30, 2006 DEOP Presentations are starting soon. DEOP is a fun way to serve the local community by promoting proper dental/oral hygiene among children. Following is the current list of DEOP presentations scheduled in October.

Sept 27, 2006 Our next general meeting (the 3rd) will be on Wednesday, Oct 04, 2006 in 122 Barrows from 7:30-8:30pm. We will be presenting DEOP program as well as discuss information about California Dental Schools and the DAT. Also, the 3rd general meeting is the last general meeting where membership fee is $10. We will also put up a page with information about California and East Coast dental schools Sept 14, 2006 UCSF Dental Career Conference is taking place October 14, 2006 from 9am to 3pm. This conference is a tour of the dental school, an introduction to their DDS program, and application and financial aid advising advice. There is a $20 fee set by the school to attend. As of now, transportation is still being determined. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by sending an email to Beverly Hong (beverly.hong@gmail.com). Please provide your name, email, phone number, and specify whether you can drive or have your own transportation. If you can drive, please tell us how many people you can also take in your car. You will also need to pay a $20 fee mentioned earlier by our 2nd general meeting on September 20.
