Topic Discussions
1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursdays of the month, 8:00 - 9:30 pm
Topic discussions take place in a cozy room, gathered around a coffee table, at the Graduate
Theological Union. For each week a topic of interest related to spirituality is chosen. We open
with a related reading, and the conversations develop therefrom.
We invite people of all different
faith-traditions to share their insights. The subject is also presented and discussed
from a Quranic perspective.
In the past we have had many interesting discussions, which included people from a wide array of
faiths.
Refreshments are present as well.
We usually start arriving at 7:30 and begin discussion at 8:00

Using the Quran as our reference, we seek to:
Share spiritual insights
Hear diversity and dissent
Appreciate the wisdom of different beliefs
Practice worship of God
Educate faith communities & the curious about Islam
|
What makes our group unique?
Given the diversity of beliefs in Islam,
we feel it is important to share our viewpoint:
-
In regards to the practice of Islam, we look only to the Quran as our
source of guidance and religious law.
-
Our declaration of faith (Shahadah) is "La ellaha ela Allah" or, "There is
no god but God."
-
We do not call upon or mention any other names but God in our prayers and other religious rites.
This said, we welcome the participation and presence of different perspectives.
