Submissions

Qui Parle submission requirements:

I. Essays: Submissions should not exceed 30 double-spaced pages, typed in a standard font (Times or Courier 12-point, standard margins). All submissions will be reviewed by the editorial board using blind review so that the identity of the author is not known to the reviewer. Include your name only on the cover page. Do not include your name on each page of the article.

Stylistic Guidelines:

1. The journal uses the stylistic guidelines set forth in The Chicago Manual of Style, Fifteenth Edition. However, page references in the text of an essay are formatted in the MLA style (parenthetical form).

2. Use endnotes rather than footnotes for all substantive comment and bibliographic information.

3. Underlining or italicization is preferred over bold face emphasis.

II. Reviews: Qui Parle accepts both book reviews and review essays. The stylistic conventions for both are the same as for the essay format described above.

III. Contributor Notes: Include with your paper a brief biographical statement which includes current academic title and/or affiliation(s), recent and forthcoming publications (title, press and publication date), and any other relevant information. Also, please indicate how you want your name to appear in print. When mailing your manuscript, please include a self-addressed and stamped envelope, your telephone number and e-mail address. Submissions should be mailed in hard copy to the following address:
