ASUC and Chancellor Berdahl host third annual UC Berkeley Recycling Summit
For the the third year in a row, Chancellor Berdahl and the ASUC President have combined forces to address campus recycling issues at the UC Berkeley Recycling Summit. Like previous summits, attendance and energy were high, and despite the budget crunch, summit organizers left with plenty to work on and lots to think about. Among the highlights of this year's summit was the establishment of the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Sustainability, a landmark committee created to bring campus environmental issues directly to the administration. Full texts of all proposals are linked below.
- Proposal A: Establishment of the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Sustainability
- Proposal B: Continued Funding for a Reusable Mug Program
- Proposal C: Increase Usage of Reusable and Recycled-content Materials at Dining Facilities
- Proposal D: “e-flyering” as an Alternative for Student Group Publicity
- Recap: 2001 and 2002 Recycling Summits
